Alpha Xi Delta’s Philanthropic Focus

 

 

 

 

 

The Kindly Hearts Initiative

The Kindly Hearts Initiative serves as the umbrella to our national philanthropic focus of supporting children and teens experiencing foster care or homelessness. Alpha Xi Deltas across the country support two Key Impact Organizations, FosterClub and StandUp for Kids, making a national and regional difference under the umbrella of our focus.

Letters of Love

All Alpha Xi Delta chapters and alumnae associations participate in Letters of Love, Alpha Xi Delta’s national letter writing fundraising campaign. Held annually during the month of November this campaign benefits Alpha Xi Delta’s two Key Impact Organizations, StandUp for Kids and FosterClub.

Alpha Xi Delta is a proud sponsor of Autism Speaks. The Iota Nu chapter here at Monmouth University is passionate and dedicated to our philanthropy. Each year, we strive to raise awareness about autism spectrum disorders both on campus and throughout the community. We participate in the annual Autism Speaks walk held in Long Branch, NJ. Not only do we walk in the event, but we also work along side with the Autism Speaks New Jersey network to set up the event. We help with registration, pass out waters and snacks, and this year we ran a face painting station for the children at the walk. It is a day filled with fun that allowed our chapter was able to raise over $3,100. 

In addition to the Autism Speaks walk, every spring we host Karaoke For A Cause. This is a great way to get the campus community involved. Participants are Monmouth University students, and the event is held in our Pollak Theatre on campus. All of the proceeds go directly to Autism Speaks. This event helped us raise over $2,100 for Autism Speaks. Every April, we also love to participate in Light It Up Blue week by tabling to both raise money and to help shine a light on autism throughout our college campus.

The Iota Nu chapter is both proud and honored to represent an amazing philanthropy. We truly enjoy working together with Autism Speaks to raise awareness about autism spectrum disorders.  Alpha Xi Deltas across the country have raised over $5,000,000 for Autism Speaks, and the Iota Nu chapter looks forward to helping that number continue to rise. 
 

 

Additional Philanthropic Events
